How to Make a Toga

Before You Begin

It is necessary that you do some edging on the edges of the fabric. This is done to prevent the fabric from fraying while wearing the toga.

How to Wrap the Toga

First, remove any excess clothing you are wearing and you can just leave your undershorts on. Beginning from your back, start making a toga by wrapping the fabric around the body just beneath the arms. This will show your bare arms and the fabric will stretch almost to where your knees are. Then wrap the fabric around your body for about one-and-a-half times.

Second, just toss the rest of the fabric over one of your shoulders then pin the fabric firmly at the place where you have begin wrapping the toga on your body.

Third,  while making a toga it is important to array the fabric smoothly at the front for it to look crisp and smart.

Fourth, fasten the toga around the waistline using a strip of cloth from the same fabric or a rope/belt.

Fifth, put on some accessories after wearing your toga. You have the option to go on barefoot or wear an elegant-looking open-toed sandal. You can put a diadem or a headdress of flowers in your hair. - When wearing a toga you must be very careful in wrapping the fabric around your body tightly and pinning it securely to prevent possible embarrassment.

- Avoid using a bed sheet in making a toga because it looks cheap and it’s obvious that it’s a bed sheet. Look for an elegant-looking fabric that costs less that your bed sheet.

- To have a more authentic look for your toga, use a plain white fabric or choose a fabric that has a Romanesque look.
